Recently acquired & upgrading Northshore 31 'Fast Lane' to race condition, but found little info on NS31's other than a few yacht broker vids,
Understand Fast Lane was the original hull plug beautifully constructed by Nthshore yachts Mona Vale 1988 of cedar. externally glassed sheaved in epoxy with production FRP moulded deck,
She light n fast, dry hull & recall her performing well at RPAYC in Pittwater.
Appreciate if anyone could expand on her build, ratings or racing results, sure she did a few Pitt -Coffs.
Cheers Tony
I sailed on her a bit way back in the day (late 80's?, might have been with the original owner), mainly in twilight races.
From my murky memory she was the only boat called a Northshore 31 as she was the plug for the Northshore 32 or 33 (or maybe the 320?) and they wanted them all the same?
Not sure about her doing Coffs races, maybe under a later owner. She sailed well and won a few chooks and red's in twilights, but the original owner worked Saturdays so didn't do much spinnaker racing.
As I said, these memories were from 30+ years ago, so use them at your discretion... ![]()

it was the plug for the Northshore 31 not 32 or 33. There is no Northshore 32 and the 33 was a lot bigger boat.
See here all grp versions were built after the strip planked cedar hull made the mould - as per prior thread below not sure why they had a 310 and 31 other than more BS marketing.

Cheers Jeff, remember admiring Fast Lane in twights when I had 'Between the Sheets' & 'Taxi.'
Has been two main owners one from RPAYC, the other took her to Pt Stephens, spent a short term at Lake Macquarie where we picked her up, thats all I know. Thanks for the feedback, Whitie
