It is not only important to have the keel down, but also to have a keel lock-down mechanism. They have a screw-in friction clamp, but some people have added a cable from the leading edge.
Here is a photo of the pivot and the friction clamp. Clamp at the top. Dont think it worked too well so that is why the cable version is fitted. Mind you, the sailing would need to be fairly robust for this to be needed. Main reason is to stop movement in a slop.
