I just sold my old boat. New owner will be moving boat to a new mooring. I know that I must notify TfNSW within 14 days of the vessel transfer. That is straight forward. I will likely do that sooner rather later.
The question is how soon must vessel be removed from mooring? How soon do I cancel mooring licence? Is it linked to vessel transfer automatically or do they wait for me to cancel?
I am in a heavily wait-listed area so will hopefully be able to sell mooring apparatus to new licensee as long as vessel is similar size, otherwise we cop the cost of its removal.

Surely the conversation should be had with your local BSO.
Mostly any contact that I have had with BSO's have been cordial and productive.
I agree with bob, the BSO will be able to notify the next inline that the apparatus is available. I've recently bought for not much $ an existing apparatus in a mooring field move and gave my old apparatus to an old mooring neighbour whom lost his in a flood. A win win situation
I agree with the above advice. If the BSO is the same person in Cronulla area as the Sydney Harbour guy then that will fine. One of the nicest people I have dealt with.
Still wondering about the timings though?
