Hi all. We are about to see if we can get through Jacob's Well but information is ranging from no way to no problem. Anyone here familiar or passed through recently? It's been a while for me.
2.1 metre draft and tides are a bit lean at the moment at 1.3 daytime.

I used to be a volunteer at VMR there many years ago when I lived in Jacobs Well, haven't been through recently but should be ok at high tide. Was talking with a couple that came through recently (2 weeks ago) with a 2.2mtr draft, they mentioned they touched bottom but didn't specify where or at what height the tide was.
Give the VMR a call to see if they have info, if boats have been getting stuck they would know.
Thanks. I'll chat to them today. I last passed through 2004 and if you were there then you might've been one of the VMR guys that took our halyard and laid us flat. Stuck solidly.
Passed through jacobs well a few weeks ago on my boat we draw 1.8m
Tide was rising we went through on the last hour of the rising tide not sure about the tide but it was on the 3/6/23 at about 8am if you can find the tide details for that day
Lowest depth was 2.6m only very briefly
Would not attempt it on a low tide
I go through there all the time. Areas marked were dredged couple of years ago You will have no problem by planning to be there around high tide . But please do not stray out of the channels and dont cut the corners around that cardinal marker like so many do and get stuck. If unsure follow
.

For anyone passing through..
Just got through on 1.2 metres tide at Jacob's well and shallowest area was close to the "shoals" sign at 2.7 depth but only briefly. After that was deeper than 3 metres. No dramas.
