A few weeks ago I sailed my boat up to the gold coast from Sydney where I plan to keep it for the foreseeable future.
I need to get an antifoul, propspeed and replace prop. Would also like a new dodger made (difficult in Geelong) and maybe a cut and polish. Living in Victoria Im willing to pay for ppl to do these things so when I am up there I can go sailing.
I have filled out at least 10 online forms for quotes. Emailed at least 6 to 8 companies. Have called as many. People either dont answer there phone. Send a message saying email me details (which I do). Reply saying we will get back to you soon then dont.
Its impossible!
I pull my 22 foot Sabre out at the Boat Works and do all the work myself there.
The ad is made for the big fellas but the yard is very accommodating.

Mines coming out tomorrow at RQYS for all of the above, doing it myself but plenty of businesses on site that provide those services. I did book 6 weeks ago and I am a member but you could call to see.
No problems with doing that work a Rivergate, needed to book about 1 month in advance. Yard labour was very reasonable and work well coordinated.
Sounds like you had bad timing with the Boat Show. I spent 3 months up on the hard at GCCM at Coomera and it was near impossible to get trades. Manage to get an engineer for my stern and rudder glands. Plus finally got a shipwright for my thru hull fittings. Rest I did myself. Got a few local youngsters to help out with the sanding.
I am now back in the water, working on the motor and then will get into the electrics. Big issue is getting the trades to turn up if you manage to book them.
Cost wise, GCCM was reasonable for hardstand and the yard crew were very helpful.
In the end i used bullet boats at runaway bay. Although their communication was a little on the short side they were super accommodating and reasonably priced. Ended up getting it done on a work trip from Melbourne. Went the full hog and shouted myself a full detail. Very happy with the job. And they were the only ppl the quoted me!
