Have a Rutland 913 wind with 150W panel. Controller only allows 150 w solar. Want to put 400W solar. Need a new controller. Any suggestions. Hoping to just swap out.

I would use the 150w controller you have just for the wind & get a new controller for your solar panels - I am running 3 controllers.

With 12v 400w you will need a 40a controller.
Maybe even go bigger so you can add in the future - you can never have enough solar!!

eBay has a variety.

I agree with Lazzz. I have 3 controllers too. If you add stuff just add extra controllers. They are cheap and are getting better all the time. I like Renogy stuff, good quality and reasonably priced.

I have a solar controller that has an external shunt to which my wind turbine is connected.
Therefore my wind turbine has its own controller but it's input is monitored by the primary solar controller,, which allows the solar controller to provide me with accurate information of the battery status.
