But, Marine Trafic still shows a signal with my old boat name.
How do I change the name, do I have to somehow reprogram the Raymarine AIS700?

I have the same AIS.
Read the manual But basically you download software on your laptop called ProAIS2 I think from the raymarine website. Then take out the NMEA2000 plug if used, plug your USB to micro USB cable in. Then power up the AIS700 with your laptop on. The ProAIS software should fire up and in there you change the name of your AIS.
Failing the above, I took mine to the manufacturer and they changed it for free within 15 minutes (although mine is GME).
Well I also changed the name in ProAIS2 via USB to the AIS700. Waited a while in Marine Traffic and the old name still appears?
Disconnected laptop, reconnected to AIS, and the new name has definitely been uploaded. What am I missing?

Did you power cycle the AIS? marine traffic? Is that a web browser? Try a different computer in case it's browser cached.
It can take a week or two for the name change on Marine Traffic. Best bet is to leave the AIS on for a few weeks.
Well, halfway through the sail this morning the AIS changed name. So sorted and thanks for your assistance. Two names on screen, same boat.
