Hi all-Does anyone know where I can access a hot water tank(heat exchanged calorfier) which plumbs into the cooling water circuit of the inboard engine.Northshore yachts and others used these and were an effective way of having hot water onboard.They would hold about 15-20 litres in total.
I am building a small Tug and this will help me out greatly.Cheers.

Thanks.To be more specific,I am looking for a pure heat exchanger type with heat gained from the motor alone.All the ones I have 'trawled' on the net are mostly electric or a combination suited to the bigger motor boats with onboard gensets and cost a packet.

i dont know of any that are raw water heated myself, but the one i had on board was able to be heated both by engine and 240v. very efficient off the motor. held 20 litres. cant find them now though.

Thanks guys-Could be in the too hard basket! I just wanted to purchase a simple HW tank system for the Tugboat as installed in our yacht without the 240v elements etc,which as you mention is quite efficient just off the motor.
We are not intending to have shore power fitted and don't want to 'junk' it up with too much gear,but having hot water is a nice luxury for a cockpit shower etc.

I use a Companion Aqua Cube for a hot cockpit shower (got from BCF $160). Simple to use; conects to LPG Gas bottle and drop pump unit in a bucket. Comes complete with protective carry bag. There is some youtube clips of these in operation. Coleman also make a similar product.

Thanks Seabird in going to the trouble of taking a pic in my quest to find something.It's the type I'm looking for and looks very similar to the one fitted in our NS33.
Little Jon's referral on the Glind unit is a good lead and for not a lot of money either.You just have to keep the engine running as it is a non storage system and will go that way now. I do not think anyone can make me a tank with an inbuilt coil for around $250.00.I am not that talented to try and make one myself !
