Well I finished up my st 1000 Raymarine autopilot limit switch modification and as I was closing it up i severed the fluxgate compass to mother board wire tape.
Now she is dead.
I have looked for a new replacement compass but can't find anything.
Any suggestions other than throw it out and buy a new one.

Is www.ebay.com.au/itm/304323006829 the part?
Alternatively is there room to replace the ribbon with wires soldered directly (fiddly!)?
Hi Gary;
What a shame. Is there any sign of life at all- ie LED's, stroking in standby mode, beeps etc?
Cheers, Graeme
Hi John24
That link is exactly what I need. Thanks a lot.
Had no luck contacting Raymarine in Britain and here in Japan was a joke.

I opened and closed the case so many times trying for the "perfect " limit switch system that I snapped the ribbon in half.
Completely my fault as I saw that as a weak point when I started and took no prevention.
After the fact I know what I should have done.
