Like having the Vendee to follow isn't enough now team Gitana are on standby. If the weather looks right they will head off in the next couple of days.
After seeing how many boats have already hit things in the Vendee this must be their biggest worry. A 50 ft cruising cat hit something off the coast of Portugal recently and capsized as a result too. They might be checking all the halyard locks are working properly as well ! Easier to go up the rig on a fully crewed boat but best to be avoided really.

December-Jan is shaping up.

Sure beats watching cricket.

That's a great read. I loved the final paragraph: what a dramatic conclusion (spoiler alert):
"ENZA reached Ushant in the early hours of Friday, April 1st while she was still under bare poles and towing her warps and chains to try to slow her down. Escorted by a French naval vessel and a search-and-rescue helicopter, ENZA reached the end of her journey. Blake crossed the finish line of the Troph?e Jules Verne in a world-record time of 74 days, 22 hours, 17 minutes and 22 seconds".
