Yeppoon arvo temperature riched 45 on my shaded patio. Time to daily visit my favorite Kamp Beach.
What a suprice, someone discovered nice sheltered spot for New Years Eve celebration .

Wrong, OK, what would YOU think ?
Boat is beached
75 foot Alloy Catamaran name " SKYE "
20m chain maybe anchor at the end.
No AUS rego, no ID anywhere at all.
Ropes hanging from side and davids.
Rubber dingy on transom, punched.
Boat is locked and all window blocked.
Left hand bow hit something from inner side, 1/2 square m
exposed inner alloy, 15mm gel coat ripped off.
No AIS or the others aerials.
No radar.
Nothing which indicate country origin.

N o w highlight
Coast Guard about 200m away,
" nothing will be done until we'll told "

Oh no boat people!
Dam didn't they see the sign on the beach 'We Got Here First'.
They Sail over to 'our' island and use up resources without paying rent, just leaving they old boat on the beach.
You better go get it and claim it for no one else wants it.

Call the cops ....they'll wrap it in 50 miles of "crime scene" tape.

More seriously, the boat is registered Cape Town, South Africa and is supposedly currently for sale in Turkey.

She started getting labour pains, so they left really quick....or he had to fly back to cape town cause they business partner had run off with the bank balance.....or simpler than that....they finally got those 100 kilos of pure coke ashore and are squillionaires now.

More worrying is that a 75' boat can slip into the country and park itself on a beach in a relatively densely populated area and no one notices.
As Charriot tells it seems that it ended up there without human intervention.
Where are the crew?

The boat in happier times

About 4 days ago, I've seen big cat. anchored by small rocky island SE of Emu Park.
Now, my guess is, the hanging 20 anchor chain, anchored the boat.
Very high tide we have now loose the anchor and boat start new journey.
Cat is still pretty shiny, doesn't look neglected. Keeper would by nice job.

So why arn't you guys out there claiming salvage!

Even a bit to say you have re-anchored her would pay for a few beers!

Can't understand that coast guard crew, if they secured her they would be issuing bills or claiming salvage for sure!

It would be sold on eBay same day mate. Cats aren't my thing, I'm a mono man.
