Just wondering if anyone can suggest a solution for fresh water flushing my tender outboard mounted on the push pit without taking it off the boat. I tried the small suction flushing cup mounts but this doesn't work?
I run mine in a bucket when I get home. The bigger OB on the yacht almost never gets flushed, only if I bring it home for the annual service.

I occasionally flush my OB on the transom by using a Bunnings Green bucket with lanyard. I sling it under the motor ,wrap the lanyard around the cowling ,fill it with fresh water and start it up. Leave prop on and in neutral. You may need to top up bucket if water outlet on motor is not going back into bucket . Dealers mechanic suggested this years ago.
I have a Parsun outboard and it has the best mechanism for flushing. Instead of using muff clamped around the water intake it has a separate hose attachment that enters directly in to the water cooling chamber. To flush I just need to attach a hose and run the water through. As I don't have a convenient hose and tap on the mooring I have rigged up a two litre pressure bottle which allows me to pump fresh water through.
You could probably look at doing the same thing to other models - just need to drill and tap a hole in the lower part of the engine to accept the hose attachment.

My Suzuki has that option where you take off the bolt that has a hole in the middle on the outlet and screw in the hose attachment . I used to use it until the nylon nut with the hole in it stripped its thread and I took the boat out without the bolt in. With the larger outlet hole there was no pressure pushing the water around the motor. The water was being sucked up by the impeller and straight out the outlet hole.
Motor overheated and stopped. No damage though. I don't touch that bolt now.
