After nearly 3 years I finally got the courage to launch the Mavic pro from the boat yesterday. It was nearly a disaster and we only got a few photos and a bit of video as I very stupidly didn't set the home point correctly and as I had set a 100m radius I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't follow us We had to turn around twice to finally get control of it and trying to land it hit the main, lost a prop, turned upside down and landed on the toe rail
And although the photos and the bit of video we got are very ordinary by anyone's standards, to us it is amazing to see ourselves like this and was worth all the stress. We have got dozens of photos taken from the boat since we got her but seeing it like this is entirely different, the video especially makes us feel a bit like a youtuber .

I replaced a couple of props and the Mavic seems ok now so all's well that ends well!
cheers

Great angles, just looks like the colour balance is a bit out, its easily adjustable via the top left dial (near the antenna) as you fly. I found there's 3 stages of learning to fly drones, the first is your too scared to do anything risky, the second is where you pick up some skills and start getting great footage, the third is where you become over confident and take off into a tree or push that low battery warning just a little too far. That find my drone function is excellent if you crash land on earth probably not so much at sea.

Yes, our first time, so much to learn but hopefully I can get better ones next time but this first time was a great learning experience
