I've installed a diesel air heater and have wrapped the exhaust pipe in white fibreglass insulation tape. When the heater is on max heat the tape starts to smoke badly and change to a burnt looking colour. Has anyone had experience with a better solution?
thanks

We plan on getting there Craig, but maybe Tassie first - where it's cold!

Give it some time , contaminates on the pipe and lagging will burn off making smoke and fumes.
If it is proper fibre glass lagging that you are using , it will discolour but it will hold together.

I've used various types of tubular woven fibreglass cloth insulation on diesel heaters, one plain, and two with different types of outer silicone layers. I haven't had the problems you've identified. Maybe try a different brand of insulation?

Thanks for the responses. I'll try a different brand and see the result.
