Hi tigers,
what would be the cheapest place in harbour to take a boat out of sea water blast it and put it back? I am not sure that diver can be that effective. Woolwich dock is asking 800 bucks which is too much for 30 minutes job. I think it is all insurances related and that is the reason why they are asking so much money.
is there anywhere in harbour that this job can be done cheaper? Boat is 26 footer.
Thank you
The water blast and environmental levy is about $250-$300 at Woolwich. These 2 items will be charged on top of the haul out wherever you go but maybe a little cheaper at other places. You might be cheaper coming up on a cradle but anywhere in the harbour will be $500+ to do what you're after.
I'd do a 26 ft boat for a few hundred dollarydoos and have it back to near perfect if the hull was flat. Been diving on boats for near 20 years. Quit a few months ago. Don't underestimate what can be done.
I had a good diver but have deleted him from my phone now I don't have a boat. Others here will know a good diver.
If the buildup is long term they may not be interested as it won't last after they have done it.
Pablo and his team at UWDS are excellent. They have done long term (>2yrs) fouling clean-ups for me but not at the normal regular rate. Of course I have nothing to do with the UWDS business.

Yeah, I was thinking about Dave Dee, 0420709010 or if you try Deniz, he used to clean our boats around Drummoyne for years!

Get yourself a snorkel, weights, scraper, fins, gloves and wetsuit. You'll save heaps, get great exercise, and keep the boat clean.
