Did a prop shaft / engine alignment today. I think the new mounts settled over the last 12 months and was getting some excessive vibrations.
Got a quote off a local marine
mechanic... $1500. Didnt agree to that of course so tackled it myself again. This time using chat gpt.
So good, step by step instructions. Type in measured gaps between the flanges and then get given the procedure ie qtr turn aft stb mount etc. Remeasure and submit to chat gpt and recieve update procedure until its done.
Way cool Cammd. I am using it more and with better success. We have a data logger on a race car that we download and review after every race. For a good 12+ months, I tried making a 3d animation to review the data, no success. Gave up, uploaded the file and code to ChatGPT, a day later it was working perfectly.
What a cool tool.
I use it often too for my medical work and software development. Someone said it changes the designer from a coder (a person who writes software code) into the architect. So true. I found the trick is to keep a store of scripts to use it.
For example if you use it as a search engine and want the best blue anti foul paint to be used on a timber boat in 15 degree water in Tasmania with ingredient x% and less than y% save that text as a script. That way your results are consistent. Its easy then to reuse the question and swap out things like blue and put in black.
Some of my software scripts are a full A4 page of instructions.
I used it to assist with a problem on my bike as well. Out of the blue it wouldn't idle. Typed details of the bike and symptoms into chat gpt. I was advised of a number of possible causes, started with the most likely and followed the procedure to remove and clean the throttle body. Reassembled and good as new. It is a cool tool.
