Is it just me or has anyone noticed how barnacles don't grow on each other? I was thinking they may have a compound in their shells that repels other barnacles, I might dry some and make them into a fine powder to mix into an epoxy paint and see what happens..

I just read an article that was discussing shark skin texture etc as a potential improvement for reducing barnacle growth.
I'll try to find it and post.

I currently have ultrasonic antifouling and it does work to a degree however still relies on frequent boat usage to remove dead growth.
