Has anyone here used the chain supplier in Alexandria, Sydney and can tell me about the quality. It's definitely time to replace and I don't think I can afford whitworths.

Not used them, but when I was comparing prices online in December, 8mm chain was $18.90/m at WW but only $12.95 at RoadTechMarine.
Same with 12mm 3 strand nylon 100 m long: WW $338 versus $190 + $30 freight to Melb.

It pays to shop around.

I bought my stainless chain from out there somewhere. It was much cheaper and better looking than Whitworths.

I used Sydney Lifting recently for 8mm G43, Ozzy Chain. One of the factors for the choice was they cut extra, did a yield test on the last meter, then supplied test certification. From my work in industry, Chinese supplied chain has varying quality, the yield test provided the assurance I was after.

Thanks guys, Sydney lifting whilst not the cheapest have answered the phone and my queries, unlike a couple of other advertisers. I will take a look at samples of the offerings and make a decision, will require a tour of the greater sydney area but I think it will be worth it.
