Following investigating the costs and process of upgrading from AGM's to Lithium in my trailable cruising yacht I stumbled across another solution. I have fitted a completely portable multi faceted Lithium Power Bank as a supplement to my existing AGM System. the Ecoflow Delta Max 2000 has a 168amp hour lithium battery combined with a 2400w sine wave inverter with 4800w startup capability and 4 240v outlets, a very fast computer controlled charger capable of charging 80 percent of the battery in under one hour, a solar charge controller capable of accepting up to 800w at up to 100v, 12v 10amp outlet along with multiple various usb outlets, a front panel readout but more usefully a wireless phone app that allows remote monitoring and interestingly remote switching of power outlets and remote charging rate configuration amongst some other nifty tricks.
As my trailable yacht already had shore power and a generator box along with 240v hotwater this completely portable unit has been an easy integration.
Yes they are not cheap but being completely portable it also swaps across to my slide on camper providing the same access to 240v without a hookup and also acts as a UPS here at home for my water pump and fridge freezer when we are not cruising or camping. also if you consider the costs of a lithium battery, large capacity sine wave inverter, 20 amp computer controlled charger, solar controller and remote monitoring and control along with putting it all into a neat 22kg portable package it doesn't seem quite as bad. I have installed the unit in an off the shelf storage hatch with attached box from a marine store under a settee berth in my yacht (with a few vent holes and a cabling hole cut into that), under the dinette seat in the camper ( charging via alternator) and in my greenhouse next to my rainwater tank at home also hooked up to some solar panels allowing the grid electricity to be off for anything but multiple rainy days.
The last photo is one of the app screens.
To date it has all worked fabulously.

Nice one, muti purpose battery packs are common now with power tools, elec outboards are doing it too. IMHO this is a step in the direction. Swapping batteries in trucks while the operator has meal breaks is an obvious go to, a similar system wouldn't be hard to design for cars.
