Dear Tigers,

after doing some detailed research, I have come across a company in Mona Vale called WM. They are offering Kubota based Diesel engines. For my 26 footer their WR12 would be perfect (size wise).
Reading they description I have realised that company can convert and adopt many things around. To me, that sounds sexy.
Second thought is probably they are cheaper than Beta and Nanni! Maybe with a little bit of luck a second hand good 2 cylinders engine could be available (swapping to new WM). It's just a thought!

Did any of you had that pleasure to deal with the company in the past?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you. Your help is needed and greatly appreciate.

When I purchased my boat it came with a WM 50hp, virtually nothing has gone wrong with it, just routine maintenance and any contact that I have had with John has been extremely positive.

Hi Serb, a few years ago I had to replace my old (10hp Arona diesel) and John supplied a 15hp WM for me. He also advised me to be very wary of buying a secondhand, old engine to replace mine with if it was salt water cooled. The head bolts on the Arona had rusted through even though the engine was fresh water flushed every time we finished using it. The 15hp he sold me was an "in between" size that he determined was not necessary for his range.
I have noticed that changing the impellor on my water pump is more of a mission that it would be on the other Kubota marinizations so have a look at where the pump impellor is on the 12. If it isn't at the front of the motor just be prepared unbolt a bracket off the righthand side of the motor before you can get at the water pump.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Just had a mechanic on my boat who told me that Nanni 10 could fit but some notifications must be done (4-5k) to do the job. More and more I realise that my only option is to rebuild my YSE 8. My dilemma is that almost every and each mechanic I have come across including John told me that YSE 8 will not last more than two years once rebuild!

I must be a very stupid man because my logic and commonsense helps me to conclude that if an engine lasted for 50 years (including last 8 months pushing constantly over hull speed) will last more than 2 years once rebuilt.
did anybody here ever rebuilt their YSE8? How long did they last ? Why would a new piston break in twice years??? In fact my YSE 8 went quieter after couple months of hard using.now compression is gone, head gasket is gone etc. but if that if fixed I am ready to go for long time.. Why mechanics are saying this? To sell new engines?

Need help here
