Hi HG

In the club we have 2 keen photographers who have taken the majority of the photo's i have posted

One is the starter and she gets great photo's with her long lens from the starters box on the top of the club house and when the long distance races are on she will drive down the river and get some shots from different vantage points on the river bank and the other is a gent who sails on one of the racing boats and he gets some great photo's from out on the water. This is a link to where his photo's are mega.nz/#F!QBZVUTLR!D0jFfAIl2x0FtWWHtV-RIg

What's the thinking with taking the jib tack off the furler and fixing to the deck?

Well spotted Seabird

We use three head sails , the original dacron one that goes on the furler that we use when it is blowing hard, and 2 larger (to big to fit on the furler) Doyle Stratis Ice head sails (battened so they don't furl) that are the same size, that run up the foil on the furler, attach a hard point on the deck and to the top bearing on the furler and have to be dropped on the foredeck when we put a spinnaker up

The lighter one is rated at 0 to 14 knots and the second heavier one is rated at 6 knots and above

The one shown on the boat in this photo is the heavy one

These photo's show the attachment point

Regards Don

Hi Sands

Unfortunately she does

This is the start times for tomorrow nights twilight race and i have listed the boat types

I think that we will be the fastest boat sailing tomorrow (I don't think the 40 footers will be sailing) so we get 60 mins of sailing time to catch the rest of the fleet

We raced tonight (only 6 starters) and got a good start and had reasonable wind for the duration of the race

Caught and passed all but the Elliott to finish second about 3 mins behind her

Worse thing is we start 2 mins later next week and that means we will be starting at the same time as the Radford 12.2 below if she races which is a big ask for a 33 foot cruiser

She is a nice boat and is currently for sale so she may not be around for much longer www.boatsalestas.com.au/sail-monohulls/radford-12-2-red-jacket/169831/

Regards Don
