Not one person in the whole film was wearing a PDF.
It also shows how foresail furlers have changed sailing.
Some very interesting sail plans too.

Awesome.
They do it a little faster these days but in a little less comfort. What will we see in 40 years time!
Imagine sending off a race around the world with no gps or heaven forbid AIS. We really have become a bunch soft cocks.

Thanks for the link. It was great to see. Some thoughts

The blond lanky bloke featuring often mucking around in a bath and helping fix sails below deck is Peter Blake. I think he was watch captain on this race.

At the start of the race the narrator says "manouvring around the small boats" just as we see a shot of the 128ft Vendredi 13 - a competitor from the 1972 singlehanded OSTAR.

Some of the smaller boats have such low freeboard compared to similar length boats today.

cheers

Phil

Thanks SandS for posting that, the commentary was fantastic. I laughed when old mate lifted the box of beers over the rail and the bottom fell out. Cheers

The one in five of us who get prostrate cancer and have a prostratomy end up with soft cocks, but we are still able to orgasm and do most things that we did before.

I said to myself "Now that's a silly way to pass beers, they're not very experienced"!! Nex minute
