heres a lesson for all us folk who worship thier gps speed readings.
Last weekend my little green arrow had been hijackedby little josephine , who was set on bettering her 60.1kph from september.
well she got it.
In a run across the lake in a fleet of 7 minis we were overtaken by a big invisible willy willy and 3 yachts capsized, TP1 with his extra weight rode the gust to leave us all behind , but josephine , with a reefed sail down to 2m on a "special " mast kept the sheet in turned downwind and blasted past TP1 like he was stopping for a picnic. when we arrived at the island J was out of the yacht, screaming, jumping, with a grin like christmas.
there on her (my) GPS was a max of 105.1kph.
first thing done was save the data to the card.
now here I sit having to tell her that at some point in the last 2 months the GPS has been reset to default settings and the file is probably useless.
SO CHECK YOUR SETTINGS!!!!!!

Thats a sad tale LY
Way Way back we had a saying in one of my workplaces "If you cant measure it your not doing it " Not sure if that applies here but sounds like it

the experts had a look at the file and it is useless.
by my figuring she would have been the unofficial:
worlds 3rd fasted GPS mini
worlds GPS fastest mini junior
worlds fastest GPS mini female.
worlds happiest GPS mini pilot.
whats annoying that I was able to watch all the theory Id put into green arrow come together in a screaming fast flash of landyacht across the lake.
the yacht was just flat and running sooo smooth, the wedged body must have been working. yet all around yachts were sliding and flipping. and no data to back it up TP1 had his new video running and pointing the other way

Paul- it looks like you need to build another mini - I dont think you are getting yours back for a while- you might even have to rename it "JOSEPHINES JET"

And congratulations to Josephine on an outstanding effort!!

wish I had that sort of luck!

I'm not jealous......much

normally when you reef a sail it lowers down your regular mast, so never really gets the best bend. Having a 3 section mast, this time i built a special lower section that meant the rest of the sail is still on a mast that bends to fit the sail its actually fascinating to watch it go cos it all looks so tiny
