A copy of the original hand drawn class 5 Pacific Magic plans have been uploaded to the articles section of the sea breeze site. These are freely available to down load and use for personal use. Pauls gift to all landsailors.
Im very happy to be the first to thank both Paul and yourself for the availability of these plans and notes. I haven't looked through them yet but they are ready for it thanks to you guys (and everyone who contributed to the design I guess).
I've beeen pondering it. Just a quick question though; is the wall thickness measurement given for the NQ tube in the Lefroy mini construction thread correct? 3mm seems very beefy for a landyacht, although an un-stayed design such a PM would be placing a great amount of twisting pressure on it. Just going off what was said in the frame/chassis design thread thats all.
Anyway, its not that I dont want the tube, just at present my designs are based on stayed rigs due to me recycling water-yacht rigs. I'd just be getting it for stock and causing someone trouble for that doesn't sit well.
Thanks Paul for posting the plans... well done ,it must have taken a while to document everything......10/10 Seeing them i will concede ...yes it looks that many changes have occured in the past 20 years. Brian

Brian the plans were originally drawn in 1994, then mailed all over the country and indeed the world. The biggest difficulty was not long after Paul did up the plans we moved house and the plans were filed away Only to be uncovered again recently...(no comments about house keeping please guys ). It did take awhile to scan all the pages and form them into a document able to be downloaded but nothing compared with the time it took to find them in the first place. Susan
The biggest problem we had with this design was on the day everyone agreed to use wheelbarrow wheels, it was always intended to use 400x 8 wheels within one year of the plans being released people were putting big wheels on the yachts and the chassis is not really suited to it. So within 2 years of the design starting it was all over and done with.
Here we are in 2008 and for the first time a class of landyacht that specifies 400x 8 wheelbarrow wheels is the biggest class in the world championships. Only a year after they were introduced.
I hearby denouce my title bishop cunningham of the church of the hol!y landyacht and rename myself Mr Nostradamus Prince of the bleeding obvious
Great photos, I love the idea of the trailer turning into a 3 seater as well! What was the name of the place where you guys went sailing...or tried to go sailing?
