I just purchased this S.W.A.T style helmet for its Air flow (Inside). Full Face Motor Bike Helmets are too hot for the job and this is more suited to Camera Mounting About the only thing it has to protect against is a Slap up the side of the head from a flailing Boom.

Nice!!!

I always thought wearing a helmet to be a bit much for landsailing until I had a good 'slap' from my yacht

Tends tu daze the senses. Don't it?[}:)]. I was also thinking of running a couple more strips of Duct tape. In times of panic just slam the visor shut! "No See", "No Panic"

You're that hard headed Ron that I wouldn't think you would need one of those.

Ive always struggled to find one that is just the right fit.
I recently found a sports shop that had canoeing helmets, rock climbing ,extreme biking, horseriding and parachuting helmets , but i still cant seem to find one that fits

Of all the helmets I have tried, I found a skiing helmet the best fit. Both Michael and I have been saved from being hurt by a serious boom slap. In my opinion, a helmet is mandatory.

You are soo good at making fibreglass wheels, so, try making yourself a helmet.
A bit of glass, a bit of carbon, a bit of styrofoam, some resin and a couple of straps! How hard can it be
You could even make it a shaped speed helmet like they have for cyclists on velodromes!
You could even have built in cameras[}:)]

Me and the good lady(?) have both gone for Snow Board/Ski helmets as well. Best price for the protection given and a better fit...though still not as good as my old AGV motorbike skid lid. Motorbike bone domes are going to be the best for fit due to the range of brands and sizes.

Cheers Col
