On days marked as Club Championship, scores count for the Club Champion trophy,
All other days, scores count for the Consistency trophy. Club 88 handicap results will be extracted from all consistency days.

Shees! aus 230 if you are thinking of laying concrete over that lot in the background then I would suggest a bigger mixer, it'd take for ever with that on on the Trailer.

Bazl, looks like our LL class5s will be out with you on the weekend of jan 15 as we hope to be racing the schooner on the saturday.

looks like a bit of last years crap didnt get cleaned out
you do realize that when we designed the 88 it was so that you could take your axles out after each weekend and store them away somewhere handy

The first class5 5 event was held for this season with visitors from Kalgoorlie competing.

Paul aus3 gave his new wheels a work out I think he was more than happy with them.

aus230 not so lucky snapping 3 axles(found that the spacer between the bearing had collapsed allowing the axle to bend and snap)

Ronnie aus55, yacht was put out of action in a collision but had a 30 year old yacht as a back up it ,then ended up in the top three places for the rest of the day.

Barry aus4 had his first outing in his new yacht and he was pretty happy with it.

The rest of the days racing was sailed in moderate winds and everyone had a great time followed by a Barby. Thanks everyone.

OK! The broken axle with the barrow wheel. What are the specs of the axle material including age?? It looks like a severe case of Metal Fatigue close in..

Vics video really brings it home what sort of a battering these wheels and axles take on a regular basis. Not surprising that you get work hardening, metal fatigue and then the typical ally crystalline fracture (my dad talking there - the family metallurgist).

Last Sunday was a club88 handicap day. Eight races where completed on the day in steady winds.
The handicapping worked well as there where several winners on the day. Most of us stayed back and had a few stubbies and a barbi.

The class5 event was held under trying conditions, There was only a few sailors who braved the extremely hot conditions.The wind forecast did not look good but it ended up strong enough to complete all 8 races.

Last Saturday(24.3) a social day was held to support the Dream Fit Team, I was told it was a great day(does anyone who attended have any info to share about the day)

On Sunday the final class5 club championship event was held. The wind was light but steady and all 8 races where completed by 4-30pm. Some of us hung around to have some light refreshments before heading home.

Dream Fit Electric controlled yacht

Bit of an impromptu fun day today - a ring around got 7 yachts out for something different, reach racing.

From a rolling start 400m to a starboard turn then back to the line. The first two yachts get points for rounding another mark 200m further on, with the rest of the fleet finishing at the line. When the last yacht crosses the line the process is repeated continuously. Ideally the first two are disadvantaged by the additional distance to travel so the points are shared around. Good fun, but need a break after 25 minutes or so.

I rather enjoyed watching the racing Vic , it all looked rather hard work at times
I kept thinking about what line I would have taken to beat the lot of you , but then i would realize that id be getting frustrated and becalmed like everybody else
I was rather impressed by AUS 4 barry Pulford , in 1 race he sailed past and shouted" what have done wrong,?" as he was stunned to be so far in front!!!![}:)]
