you just blew my budget. what will the weight saving be over a glass/polyester orglass/epoxy seat be, given that as a class5 it will be bolted to a steel/ally chassis
Don't even turn your back on "The Black Bitch" for one second, no not even over night in your garage . Be sure to sleep in it with a loaded 12gauge.. It will finish over here in my garage.. Capich?? Don't go getting too Anal either Ron She is still beeeuudiful.
seat weighed in at 11 kgs. (not sure wot other class 5 seats weigh).
Are you laying up a solid laminate ( looks like it from what I can see in the pics ) or laying up onto foam for a foam sandwich composite construction. If so what density foam. And are you Vac Bagging? If not it is worth considering both if you make another as you'll reduce the weight even further and create improved consolidation and carbon epoxy ratios. Providing better strength and rigidity. If a solid lay up what's your laminate spec? Looks like a heavy weave cloth to me from the pics. Be interesting to know, as I may be thinking about something similar soon...
Daryl.......bad , bad , name in Aussie, but still, very interesting shell......
what length, what price, purchased product or self produced..... oh yep....noice
look..........interesting...... BIG potential......
Daryl?... blame my Mum!
the boat is a R Class / UK Cherub ( or 12 foot skiff ) it fits all those rule sets. Hull lines designed by a NZ guy called David Lee and is an version of his Interdom winning 12 foot skiff. I designed the rest of the boat and part built it, but it was mostly put together by a builder over here call Ardvark. Thanks for the compliment.
And her I was, Lachy, thinking you were an Aussie??? Emachisit = How much is it??
I would like to buy it.. Not that that is likely to happen, I doubt ADL will want to sell it and I doubt that I have the money to buy it.. From my side of the fence it is another Backhanded complement (I like it that much I would buy it) Ron
