Asuming your sitting as far back into the seat as you can sit (ie: with your back at a similar angle to the 'seat' back) I'd venture a guess and say have the axle about 4 inches (100mm) to the rear from the forward position picture. You want your body's centre of gravity (about your belly button, give or take ) just in front of the axle, preferably in the same plane as the crafts centre of gravity I think. This way pilot weight doesn't change the dynamics of the craft other than making it heavier of lighter (thats a simple model but I think it makes sense

Are those normal bike wheels on the rear?

sit in and get your feet where they will be. since your sitting up you will want the axle just 1-1.5inches 35mm under the backof the seat. how big a sail? your last yacht looked all wrong to me ,but i realize now that it would sail just fine. Ie I was wrong

wheels are a heavy duty bike wheel, ally rims, twice as many spokes as normal,13 mm axles.plan to use a 4.8 sail with wishbone [boom],may end up doing a number on it ,reduce luff curve and more conventional boom.

Are you going to be seated as in this photo (below) of sitting more upright? Because that will change things a bit depending on the two options.

As someone has said before (Landyacht I think) lay on a plank thats sitting over a round tube (see-saw style) and roll either way until you find your centre of gravity, or guestimate it. Place your CG over, or in front of (but not behind!!), the crafts CG position (anyone correct me if Im wrong ).

The seat looks good, hope you get some more good build time in when your next at.

slide back in the seat and bring your head up. i reckon you need to cut a bit out of the front of the seat

Most landyachts I've seen do it by adjusting the length of the steering column. I think that can be done alot easier than adjusting the whole seat.

it's a long time ago since i built a yacht and it was to the class 5 specs ( nearly 20 years ago now ) but we aimed to keep the front of the yacht as light as possible by moving the centre of gravity back from the rear axle, with the yacht fully rigged, and the pilot seated in a sailing position

I go away for 1night and you just have to play up I suspect you need a bit more width and some sideguards on your steering pedals if your going to run that big a sail. also I would extend the pulley whip (the bit out the back) so you have a chance of sheeting in that wishbone. . still it looks like toomuch fun to miss out on.
What I am really impressed by though is those Sturt Desert Peas. we rarely manage to get them to grow and they look like weeds at you place

yep

I noticed when you capsized your foot came offthe steering. If you had a sideguard to keep your feet in till its all over it can save on injuries.

WOW . beats working doesnt it!
I would be a bit concerned about the chunks sticking out the front and sides of the front wheels. when you capsize or even do a high wheelie one of those bits is going to hit the dirt. could you make a sliding tube type steering rod to replace the red model. the red one is really starting to look like a fast unit. FAZE 5 lives down the road and has been known to visit your part of the planet, We might have to see if he can bring his mini up for a race , or meet half way? sound like a plan Bill

I was thinking of one of your beaches up there . Im told theres a few of Chet Coxs yachts one of those beaches. I still have an image in my mind of Martin Bell trying to sail off the salt crust at Locheil, and his front wheel disappearing
