I have 2- 5 sm sized sails. One full one flat. The flat one may need to have the luff curve recut. I plan on getting a 4 sm sail too.

Hi

Your build has inspired my friends and I to do something similar. We have a really tough time sourcing the correct square tubing in this country and your yacht has made that problem completely redundant. What are the chances of us seeing the inside of your yacht? It would be interesting to see what your layout is like.

Thanks
Johann

I had the boat out today for the first shake down. I had a few fasteners shake loose and a squeeky starboard wheel. Other than that it sailed well in little wind.

I have several construction pics here. - groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/2nalsa/photos/albums/1561826696/lightbox/

You will have to join the group to view the pics.

Its made from 1/8'' , 1/4'' , 1/2'' plywood. And some spruce. Put together with West System. I would make the area where the feet go a bit taller.

Thanks for the heads-up on the yahoo group! We can only hope of achieving such a neat and tidy build as yours. It looks fantastic.

Thanks again.

I would be happy to try to answer any questions you may have as you build.

sweet!!!!!!!
I would be inclined to make up a second axle that is much softer and lower. I think when your yacht cranks up on clay it is gonna react VERY quickly and be a handful and with a softer axle it will ride gusts better , not hurt you as much AND go even faster.
my predictions are based puely on crashes on our local claypan which is essentially a red ivanpah

I have the option to lower the spindle mounts like they are in the prior photos before I painted. It drops the boat about 2''. The spindle mounts are 3x3x1/4'' angle irons cut and drilled so suite. My dad said I should make another axle as well. . Hmmm! Since the video I've lowered the sail on the mast so it's center of effort is lower to the ground.
