has anybody tried out that Briskites wheel on a landyacht. the rim is rather narrow at 2.5" and you can see in the photo that the bead fit line is well out from the edge of the rim. this typically leads to the tyre trying to roll off when you get a gust. And thats on a mini!.
definitely need a trial before we can endorse them , cos they look great!!!!!!!

I still haven't order my wheels yet and I was thinking of going there. In their schpeal Sysmic/Briskites point to land yachting as a use. Hmm? $300 + Postage is a lot to spend on a trial run. They are made in France. Do we have any French members?? Perhaps they have been used over there, it may well be early days yet as they are a fairly new import from what I can make out.. I have been trying to find the manufacturers contact.

Sysmic/Briskites Complete Wheel 4" x 8" Aluminum. Are in a container off the coast at the moment.

landyacht have you looked at the design of the AZUSA Spinner, Astro's and the Tri-Star?/ Layouts? Page 10 of their Cattle Dog has the profile dimensions of the AZUSA Wheels. You thoughts and experience would be helpful on these too.

Yep! Another useful Contact.

Yeah! I just hunted the WEB and came up with this info' on Nolathane. It is an Aussie/NZ Brand by Redranger Products (Auto Bushings etc). 22mm Part #49080. It is also available in 32mm x 300mm. It can be bought at any good Auto Parts outlet, Repco, Auto Barnes etc.

www.redranger.com.au

Other info on turning this product. Do not allow it to get HOT as it tends to go crystalline. Prior to turning in the lathe it is best to cut it to the length required and freeze it for at least a couple of hours and machine it as quickly as possible, you have around 20 minutes to work it before refreezing. It is Tough and Flexible.
I was given this info by a Redranger technician.

Why Useful?? Checkout Kids Mini Steering Linkages.

I will recomend a great buissiness to get Fibreglass supplies (resins, hardener, fillers, etc) from in Bendigo (central Victoria). They don't seem to mind giving out info about fibreglassing techniques and/or products either:

Gel-Tek
Fibreglass Products and Repairs
872 Bendigo-Maryborough Rd, Lockwood, VIC, 3551
No webpage but they are in the yellow pages.

Another shop for Falshaw (and other) wheels and bearings. Can't say too much other than they take my money and get the job done:

Bendigo Bearings (Aust) P/L
30-34 Abel St, Bendigo, VIC, 3550
Again, no webpage but they are in the yellow pages.

Abbott Supply are a good, accessible place in Bendigo to get steel, engineering supplies and good quality tools.

Abbott Supply
abbottsupply.com.au/
Cnr Abel & Deborah Streets
Bendigo, Victoria

Fitz'ies Home Hardware. I don't get much from them but they have stocked sheets of 6mm 5 ply which I have used in my miniyacht seats with success. They are a Home hardware outlet so you might have as much luck at other home stores.

Fitzpatricks Home Timber and Hardware
320 Eaglehawk Road
California Gully
Victoria 3556

Except for masts, rigging and sails you can get everything you need to build landyachts from the three above stores in Bendigo. Have Fun!!
