Work and other distractions have kept me from serious engagement with this consuming affair.My current boom is a very sturdy number which should withstand whatever I subject it to.But it is a bit short for anything other than the 4.5 m sail shown in the pics .I want to use a 6m thumper on occasions not only on the Skiwi,but the tandem as well.A longer boom is required for the bigger sails. I have quite a bit left over from the current boom so my plan is make an extension which I can add for the longer foot versions. I plan to use a smaller diameter tube as the joiner and these dandy clips imported from UK .

Those clips are ideal. We used similar on our LLM back axles with great success

those clips can be salvaged from damaged or corroded windsurfing booms too!
