one of the yachts that stood out for me last weekend was a LLM built by Pete Gleaves. Pete didnt have access to a sewing machine and simply rigged a windsurfer mast and boom set up to his mini. he machined a nylon plug for the base of the mast and had a thin sheet of teflon wrapped around the mast in the mast step. the dowhaul system tie down to the mini chassis The yacht suffered in the lighter winds due to the small sail size, but once the wind got up it perfomed rather well. i paced pete in my own mini and was suprised how well it did.

Do you regard a 4.5 m2 rig as small in size for a mini or is the labelling on the sail only a nominal thing. As I understood it your poly sail design is 4 m2. Is that correct?

While it lacks the low down sail area at the rear it is certainly a quick and easy way to set up a rig on a mini.

Is it a standard sail or has it had some recutting?

Nice job he has done on the trike build, especially the simple way he slotted the steering head into the spine tube.

that sail is a straight windsurfer. If you were recutting youd be trying to get some of the sail area at the foot up to the head. recutting this sail would leave you with a 4m sail. , and a rather flat one
