I took this little movie last week on the claypan to demonstrate the Lefroy Mini steering. this one is 290mm wide, and fits my size 9 work boots . To demonstrate the amount you need to steer , and hence the lack of need to have bicycle handle bars, I did a 90degree tack with one foot and then head off downwind and gybe .top speed was 72kph. the problem with a handheld camera is that you cant concentrate on sailing AND filming.
Thanks for that dink on your Lefroy Mini landyacht. Many aussies must have enjoyed that. its surprising that Lefroy stood the weight of both of us . Recon you will have to do some more camera work possibly have to make a mount, or do a helmet mount [}:)] Someone must have an old un-used helmet mount lying around, that they could donateto the cause. It would seem that a complementary " how too " appendages to the book could be a seller.
problem is ot the filming , its the file formats, and the upload time .by changing from.MOV to .mpeg format ,that 1:18sec reduced from950Mb down to 140Mb , and only took 8 hours to upload. If you try and do anything ele on the computer at the time , the upload bombs. maybe there is some other way of quickly uploading?. We hope to test out TP1's new helmet cam soon
After watching your clip Paul I'll will continue to call you "Master" It's just that I now know your last name is "Disaster". All joking aside it's good that you were willing to let us see that even the experienced come unstuck from time to time.
