Yacht #4? working, and tested just need to finish the cosmetic stuff.

Steering joint hose/latex tendon was broke at home so replaced with o-ring rubber.
Eye bolt on centre sheeting pulled open.
Had to run 'Crocket Downhaul' in combination with centre sheeting to get the sail to set nicely. Without the additional downhaul the 2 panels 2nd and 3rd from the bottom would back wind and yacht couldn't point as high.
Yacht tended to see saw as the pilot moved their weight.
Need to be more accurate with axle alignment only guessed what looked and felt right.
Also experimented with 4.6m sail worked well.
Need much flatter sails for salt.

Steering was light and predictable. O-ring rubber didn't chew out or have too much play. Hose/latex tendon would have better more direct feel. Contemplating making a "pulleys pointer" for the front end.





I love the seat; good design just need to add padding.





Later in the day changed sheeting pulley to a Rontsan bull bearing type (old one of the blokart)
Would like to test again with no suspension and a solid bar in place.

Yacht felt "soft' compared to Bryans' Viking Class 5. It was comfortable but chassis didn't felt like it had the grunt e.g. wanted to lift a wheel like a mini or blokart. Very lazy to sail. Sheet in, cleat main sheet and hands behind the head and just cruise.

agree with vic on the shocky, crank it down, , you will need to put at least a 42mm dia sheave on thet sheeting. little wee blowie stuff wont cut it
