These dates conflict with a large International event. Ivanpah in the USA.

This event was planned in accordance with local tide and wind conditions, school / public holidays and accommodation availability. Unfortunately there will always be overlaps with other events and if organisers tried to dodge every other event then none would happen.
It would be nice to participate at all events but we all have to make choices.
These dates were chosen in consultation with ABA, CQBC and local input and will hopefully suit the majority.

Seriously, how many Aussies are going to Ivanpah?

Ivanpah or the Australian Open? I know which one I'd choose.

There were 3 in 2008, I think 3 in 2009 (Arjay can correct me if I'm wrong), so Ivanpah is as big on the Australian calendar as the Australian Open is on the US one. Don't get me wrong, though. Ivanpah is a great place to sail and I would urge everyone to make at least one pilgrimage over there, but if it is a choice between clashing with Ivanpah, the Worlds in Belgium, the new CQBC annual event and the State of Origin series, I know which one I'd choose. As Darren said, timing for these events is ultimately determined by weather and local holidays among other things.

Entry form is available in word format on the club web page at:

Start getting your entrys in folks, its only 2 1/2 months away! We all enjoy getting together for some racing and socailizing.

This will likely be the last chance for a couple of years you will have the chance to race nationals at yeppoon as other clubs are itching to have a go at hosting on their home ground. Would love to see it bigger than last year.

Cameron.

I just rang the council and a beach permit is no longer required for Farnsborough beach. For anyone staying in Bangalee this means you can drive along the beach for free.

Last year the permits were $25 and then after the Open they went up to $100 but they have now been scrapped.

Please be aware that due to the fact we have to keep a traffic laneway at the top of the beach for through fishing traffic, that parking wll not be allowed other than official vehicles in the area above north / south boundry markers.this area will have to be kept free of parked vehicles.Parking will have to be at areas north/ south of boundry markers. EPA do not like us parking on dune vegetation runners. Regards Dave Moore

I could not find a direct Rocky to Melboune flight on Tiger but they did have Rocky to Brisbane and Brisbane to Melbourne on Monday 29/03/2010 with a few hours stop over in Brisbane, that may be viable.

ooooh a cyclone is heading for us again. Brings back memories of last year but one week earlier than this year.

I am definately bringing the 2m sail as it finally got a run a few weeks ago and now I have several friends fallen in love with in. Dont care if there is not enough space in the car, will have to sacrifice some of HIS stuff. I am sure he can survive without a 5.5!!

We just got home (first beer is half gone) and we had a great time but it's good to be home to relax.
Many thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who did a great job at the 2010 Australian Blokart Open at Farnborough Beach, Yeppoon.
It was great to catch up with the other competitors and meet new ones and to be involved in such an important event.
Just a warning to others who take on running an event- it's a lot of work! but very satisfying.
We will post events when Cameron gets home and photos after we unpack and unwind.

Paul maybe you should enter the event one year. You'd have a ball.

This years Open was a huge success and a massive thank you to the CQBC committee for organizing and running it. The competition was very close and I think I can safely say that everyone had a great time.

Mate, I won my class last year, would have been nice to do 2 years in a row , but last years airfares were frequent flyers, and this year the kids used up all my points.

I stuffed that up. It was meant for Pete not you Paul. My mistake as usual. I certainly didn't miss you this year as I had enough trouble getting a third let alone competing with you again
