Hey Guys,

Have had a few lessons and have my own gear now so want to bust out on my own but dont want to get in anyones way if im floundering around like a goose. Can anyone suggest any good spots to try on the river so I can build some confidence before hitting the sea?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Affiliate,

I wouldnt worry too much about the sea, in my mind its safer as its less gusty and there's usually more launchland area. There's not too much room for error at Melville and stay away from pellican point as thats even worse.

My suggestion would be beach 1 at woodies, there a good size beach for launching and landing and if you head down the beach alittle there plenty of room to play. There's only small chop too.

Cheers
