Hi All,

I've just signed up to the forums, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm not a kiteboarder, but sometimes take photos of the downwinders between Floreat and Brighton - you may have seen me bobbing around in the whitewater with a yellow housing!

Given the new season is starting, I thought I'd say g'day - please give me a shout if you see any photos of you or anyone you know. I'm not selling them - just really having fun doing it, and would be happy to pass on any good shots.

The only catch is, I've developed a thing for capturing speed, so most of my pics are taken at 1/20th of a sec, panning with the subject. Not everyone's cup of tea, but that's cool. Also going for quality over quantity.

Anyway - hope to see you down there - flying past at some point!

Cheers,

Ray

Nice photos Vision!

Welcome to the Forums.

I post my photos here:-

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Kitesurfing/Western-Australia/

Typically I am on the beach between Brighton and Trigg..

If you have a housing for your camera you might be interested in underwater photography.

I am a Committee member of this club:-

waups.org.au/

Keep posting your great photos...

Great pics mate. Love a good panning shot. Would be interested in seeing more of your work.
What camera are you using in your housing?

Cheers ironbark - I tried to move this post into the WA Kite section, but I don't think I can. I'll post in there next time. Will look out for you when I'm down that way - generally I head to the dog beach, as I walk the dog at the same time.

Thanks felixd!

Cheers EB - I'm using a 5D Mark ii with a variable ND filter, and 50mm lens. Ideally I'd use an 85mm, but it doesn't fit in the housing port. I'll post some more as they come to hand. Or if you're on Instagram - www.instagram.com/raystonephoto/

Well framed and actioned shots.

Are surfers too slow for that kind of shot? Too hard to grab the millisecond slop of Perths best beachies, I'd imagine.

Cheers Buster fin - I've seen good slow pan shots of surfers, for sure.

Vision,

I'll look up your Instagram account.

I run my own photo blog on a friends server (she is also a photographer - the "woofess" - she has the same camera as you I think).

www.ironbark.woofess.org/

My blog seems to be on the go slow tonight - maybe they are doing a server upgrade?

If I'm down the dog beach way I'll keep an eye out for you...
