I would love to know how much this is costing. I don't understand how any channel that small cut in the ocean will remain more than a few months (or one decent storm). Why wouldn't you follow the naturally deepest channel that exists already (basically straight out)? Are we going to pay for this every year? Are the windsurfers who insist on doing speed runs straight through dozens of people through that exact area going to have right of way over boats using the channel ?

Looks like a waste of money though I'm sure the boaties will appreciate the effort....
