I have started my next "General Kitesurfing" gallery of photos for the season October 2016 - April 2017 & am planning a trip down to Margret River & Augusta for a weekend in two weeks time. I really do not know the area & was wandering if any of you guys could please pass on some places where I could maybe grab a few photos on this trip. I'm heading down just to try & put a mix into the gallery of photos, so any advice would be most welcome. Is it also an afternoon breeze thing down there like we have in Perth? Main break at margs (prevelly) works well on a South west wind. As Ryland said it can be offshore there if its from the straigth south. I have found augusta to be more consistent, there is flat water on the inside for freestyle riders and waves in the river mouth. Last time i was down that way we saw the resident stingrays feeding close to shore at Hamelin bay.

Hi Gordon , when are you heading down? I am going to Augs in the next couple of weeks with a small group of av kiters...will make a good bluppers real for you :) we just waiting for some good weather. we generally in the river / easterly on the flat water.
BTW Augusta works on South , South-East / and Easterlies .. We look at the Margaret river reading for forecast ( add a few knots) and Leeuwin reading for current wind. When the weather is hot in Perth ( 35 degrees plus ) the easterlies start happening and Augusta pumps. Generally I find it better later in the season ( Jan / Feb / March). The river makes great photography . There is a place on the river that you can hire a dinghy or kayak.

Careful of the hardy inlet, since man's (Mr Mike Smart, pretty ironic) intervention the flat water inside has this spider weed that is supper thick and grabs your fins. Gives me a bad rash. Can be a bit dangerouse now as the sand spit has reached east Augusta. The ocean side is now constantly merky with piles of weeds. No real beach any more until you cross the cut. Aint what it used to be

Mate there's so many epic spots, coast faces many directions from dunsbrough to augusta.... just go on an adventure and be prepared to sctacth up the car heres a couple of recent pics nothing special just from phone.
