hey juggler or are you a jiggler?
Not 1 scratch
No damage to any equipment
The only one to mistakenly touch the bank was murray who is 46.
There is a reason why these kids are so good ! Do you know what it is????
They practice practice practice so they are in control of their equipment. They kite better than 90% of kiters in melbourne. They take calculated risks and the have BALLS to go for it!
Give them a break!!!!!!!! We are trying to create champions not pussys or jigglers.
I think the point is that there were a lot of near misses and most of the guys don't look like they're comfortably making it. What you may also be missing is that Juggler is actually a damn good kiter. He's also done things like this and many others, massive kiteloops over sandbanks water and he also has some nice pretty metal pins to show for it and trust me when I say he is better than anyone in the video that I saw so his pins weren't a skill issue. Things can and will go wrong, line breaks, accidentally unhooking etc and when they do, serious injuries happen.
Calculated risks are calculated. There was nothing calculated about this. It's just a risk so please don't make it seem like that. I'm not saying don't do it, but don't try pretend it's a calculated risk because looking at the skill level here and the amount of misses, it's not that calculated. It's a bunch of guys jumping a bank and making it part of the time. Calculated is where you clear it by 4 metres on either side every time because you know you're going to make it, not you hope you make it. Calculated is where you learn it by doing it over a sandbank and you're landing in a deep channel because you know that if something goes wrong you're landing in deep water.
On the issue of the towing, Juggler is right. This is not a good idea. There have been many injuries, some with professional riders due to this. We're not talking broken bones, we're talking paralysis. If a kite line snaps (and they do), you're coming down quickly because you're being pulled down. Do some searches for videos and you'll see some where things have gone horribly wrong with top riders.
