Sunday 2 June
Winds
South to southwesterly 15 to 25 knots tending west to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots in the evening.
Seas
1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre around midday.

hmmm, chances are i shouldn't get too excited for tomorrow then either.

Yup hopefully it's nice, but recent track records are not so confidence inspiring!

Hi, I went running down to brighton beach this morning, about 2 hours ago, 3 kite on the beach but none in the sky. Wind was too light.
trees are moving a bit more now, it's probably stronger, I might go and have a look in an hour or so.

was good to get a nice little raz in at stkilda for a few hours. hopefully no one dies from that water!! hard work at times.
amazing how a nice session can make up for an average week on and off the water

It feels like forever since last decent kite/wind.

I tried Altona, however was not enough.

Grrrrrrrrr.

There was a big crew of kiters spotted at Hampton yesterday morning all in the same T-shirts and riding the same kites. Anybody know what that was about?

I got out at on Friday at Brighton on my new kite Yay, and did two 'actual' jumps (knocking my grand total up to 3 jumps) and had my first kitemare (tangled kite) boo.... but had great help recovering my board by a fellow kiter yay...

Great pics,... and I have a newbie question about this one. I quite often see people jumping like this, i.e. stretched out, almost getting wrenched out of the water. My question is, is this just because the kiter is unhooked an hence is standard jump in all other respects?

Thanks.

Salty Sinus - it's no standard jump. It's a different move altogether, a railey. It relies on edging against the kite before popping off the water to generate lift (and the pull that causes the rider to be outstretched). The kite normally stays at around 45 degrees.
