Hi all,

I am just thinking about kite boarding tomorrow and see a mixed forecast.

Seabreeze is saying S-SW, BOM W and central coast forecast is W.

Where is everyone planning to head tomorrow?

Thinking Inverloch...

Had a friend ask if i wanted to head out to Apollo bay.. not sure if the forecast is right for apollo bay though.

The Kiddies pool (St kilda) is going to be busy tomorrow, as far as i know Kite republic are having a ride day there.

Cheers

Inverloch on a westerly can be very gusty. If its SW then its fine. Just be careful of the difference because its a long way to drive for gusty wind.

Check google maps and you'll understand why. W comes straight over land.

Same goes with sandy point - you want a good deal of south in it.

Sandy works in a westerly but you've got to walk so far to launch because of the high dunes near the entrance. I reckon I'd only bother with Sandy in a westerly if I had a boat to lug my gear down far enough out of the wind shadow.

I was thinking Rose bud, as long as it doesnt shift too South on the South Westerly. It is a little far for a low tide though so maybe brighton as well

Mordialloc just north of the pier has a large /wide beach to launch / land from.
A good asset in onshore conditions!

Aspendale / Edithvale was good today earlier, nice mushy waves for a bit of added fun. When the clouds came and the sun went in the wind got gusty, typical for a westerly.

Can be good, need to pick a spot between South Beach Cafe and the headland, to close in and the wind drops out, to far north and it becomes very bumpy with large swell rolling thru. Westerlies make some nice little waves roll around the headland as well. Nice wind beach to launch from as well

Go 5km further down and kite at Rye, works fine in a W and stays a lot deeper at low tide. Always the go when Rosebud is to shallow
