Heaps of urchins, stingrays, power lines, choppy water sandbars and polluted water. Worst place in Melbourne to kite stay away.

going for kiteloop, but line broken (assuming 5th - but could have been one of the front lines - either way going to hurt).

Couldnt be railey - as hooked in (could be gailey but dont think this guy would be doing gaileys).

Yeah - definitely dont go to altona. What lebowski said,

AND

very tide dependant - bad on high tide, to choppy, and low tide - no water, bad on westerly - too gusty.

Definitely not worth going down.

Definitely dont go there if you have cabrinha - too many trees, OR north - too many powerlines.

Oh dear! Not a plesent Pic!!!

Kiteloop bail.... never!!! Its a dangling power line as:

was pretty powered on a 9m razor! just poped hard into a kiteloop and SNAP! the pigtail on the powerline snapped! the pressure ripped the bar outa my hand and droped face first in the water. with a fun death looping kite! thank god for quick realise!

Do you mean Gailey the guy that used to work at Rip Curl in Torquay and give surfing lessons? He's one cool dude!

Where in Port Melb exactly? I did not know there was a designated kiting zone there. Anyone?

Port Melbourne isn't a designated area so you have to keep outside the 5 knot marker. It's a shared zone. I.e. you can operate boats and swim but when coming inside the markers you're required to adhere to the 5 knot rule.
