hey all, we are heading up to little gibber, a 4wd beach drive 14k`s nth of hawks nest beach, wed 26/1/11


for surfing, bbq lunch & kite back to the main beach !!bring the family &
wives(handbrakes) !!

we load bodys into the trailer to get non 4wd people up there, we meet at hawks nest golf club car park at 9.30am or my workshop at sandgate at 8am,

hope for lots of wind & no rain,

so who`s in??

yer its pretty worn, gets around ok but i dont reckon its up to towing things.. espicially on the beach, i dont have a tow ball for it anyways.. sorry craig

Because of all the sh!t that has gone down with jimmys beach caravan park, it looks like a ghost town so there is planty of room for camping and hardly anyone there.

For those that aren't aware:
You need a permit to drive on the beach from the golf club up to about half way to the little gibber along the main beach at hawks nest.

If you drive up the road towards mungo brush and drive onto the beach at a place called lemon tree you do not need a beach permit.

If you want to drive up the beach on the bay side (via the park at jimmy's beach)for flat water you will need a special permit that can only be obtained with a doctors certificate from the local doctor, you will need a good reason why you or someone in your car can't walk up there.

What happened at Jimmys?

They closed the park and have virtually kicked out 90% of the people that have setup their vans there over the last 30yrs.
It has been a bit like telling the local small comunity they can't live their anymore.
People have made really good friends etc over this time and have been spending most of their holidays there and this was the first year they had to find something else to do and somewhere else to go
