This will be the 7th year of the Ducks Nuts, a camping, kiting, surfing, eating bonanza of randomness for TKSA members and kiters alike.

New this year will be the Party Island; a new level of floating luxury, random prizes (generally for things not kite related), river oysters, plenty of gear to try out, free snags (as usual), free softdrinks (woot!), BBQ, Firepots, maybe a shelter? and who knows what else?

Rain, hail or shine a rugged crew will be camping at Black River for a change of scenery. Sheltered in amongst the boobyallas so long as the boom gate is open. Here we'll find waves, flat water and pretty simple to organise downwinders, all pretty much straight from your tent.

If you haven't already, make it easy and join TKSA here http://www.aksa.com.au/joinhere

Here's a stab in the dark... The long term forecast is suggesting easterlies! But with Stanley it doesn't matter what wind direction, there is always somewhere to kite it.

More forecasts and details closer to the date... stay tuned!

Looks like NW Friday with Sw 20-25kn Sat and Sunday, but anything can and will happen forecast wise.

West inlet downwinders to hellfire, east inlet all good too. Trailer is prepared with custom firepot and BBQ.

Sweet!

Ready for a good pumping?

15kn west Fri
15-20 kn west to NW Sat
20-25knW turning ugly SW 30-40kn Sunday.

Should be plenty to do. Firepot pizza oven is sorted.

Drive down the track to black river campground and look for a liquid force flag blowing in the happy vibes.

At this stage it's black river campground and estuary for a kite fri n sat.
Go past port Latta, past Peggs beach camp, and about 2klm on right is dirt rd to black river campground.
If you go over black river or end up in Stanley, you've gone too far!!

The other kiting places we could be are Hellfire aka cable station. Take the road west from Stanley town, over the green hills and you'll see it.
Or
East inlet tis on the way to Stanley town, after you turn off the bass hwy. on your right look for Gullivers rest.
Or
west linlet, drive along bass hwy past Stanley turn off, turn right into cemetery.

Big thanks to Townie for the firepot pizza oven and firewood. Thanks to Pat for cooking awesomeness, Kim and Fran for buggy and pics, Calder for spicy rum, Chris for gruesome finger surgery and bringing the trailer, Ben for lending his kites around and everyone else for helping out, having fun and bringing the good vibes!

Nice pics. But, why in the last one is there a giant shark fin breaking the water surface? I wouldn't kite with him in there.
