And the forecast looks terrible
Whats going on

What about today an tomorrow, I am up from Melbourne and brought a 17m for the light winds...
Iam in the Runnaway Bay area, any recommendations for locations and is anyone heading out later today or tomorrow...
ANy help would be great... thanks.
At the top of this forum there is a Locations guide... open change to Satellite view and magnify a bit.
All the yellow icons are for downwinders. Along Sunny coast either N to S or S to N. Click on these for description - and go in travel direction till reach the opposite arrow coming the other way. Say Castaways to Stummers Creek (N to S - Tomorrow 30th go earlier if you only have 17 M as likely to be 16-20 knots after about 2:00pm due to sea breeze) - Stummers creek is approx 9-10 kms to south just scroll along shore-line till you reach opposite marker = Stummers creek to Castaways S to N - leave car at one end and use bus along David Low way to get to back - they run every 30 mins. Chances are you will run into someone already setting up or on-route. Locals tend to be on smallest kite possible so would be waiting till the wind picked up more than for a 17m. Sme commits 2morrow but may get a late arvo' run Yaroomba to Redgate / North shore... Hope u get out - as long as you are experienced it is a fun run and easy enough solo.
Cheers

Good northernly wind yesterday
Runnaway Bay is just north of the Gold Coast
Bit of a hike up to Castaways for a DW which is on the Sunshine Coast 2.5 - 3 hours away
Check the Locations guide like Aqua Plow said ...very informative
Plenty of good flat water spots on the Gold Coast Broadwater
Or could do a DW along the beaches of the Gold Coast
But be sure you take a wide birth around the flags
Start opposite Seaworld and DW down the coast and get the bus back
Could go all the way to Burleigh without having to go round a headand
Bus from Burleigh to Broadbeach then Broadbeach to Seaworld
