When conditions are right, there are few spots better on the east coast. That said, it's a bit of a hike if the conditions fail to eventuate. If you get to Rainbow, it's not that hard to hitch a ride on the beach to the point. The guys at the local surf school do regular runs there for lessons, tide dependant, they may be willing to give you a ride if they have room, it's amazing what a carton of beer can get you. Worse case scenario, I guess you could walk it in a couple of hours?
Thanks for your answer BurkeyBoy. We're mainly looking for flat water and figured out that DIP might be the best place but we're not that much experienced with the East coast yet. We've tried Bigerra Waters, Brighton and Wello point and always got fair winds but messy waves. I've also heard about cotton tree and caloundra but have never tried it yet. What do you reckon could be a good spot with southerlies/northerlies ?
