that 6.5km line would be a big high tide only. Or is the marked line showing the area for kiting (I assume it is way home).

the mangrove point near you southern most mark has a bank that extends a LONG way towards the SSE, once the tide starts to drop even a bit its going to be a lot longer than 6.5km - more like 12. I have often thought about using this bank - obviously it needs boat for access.

the poo shoot is in the river opposite the terminal, current carries any water from there and the refinery out the river and north. I've spent a bit of time in and around that area and the water is very clean.

My point to the OP was that his trail to the boat ramp covers some very dry area, if done by boat it would be shorter to go to either the Wynnum creek boat ramp or go the other way around Fisherman's Is to the boat ramp marked on the top map. It is these large areas of banks that cause the calm water.

What beach is there at the end of the rock wall is another question

The water is crystal clear, as stated the poo shoot from luggage point generally gets pushed north to nudgee beach, the setup area I've pin pointed has a rock wall the entire length as to protect the reclaimed land . The water depth from the shore line is ankle to knee deep atleast 150m out, it's super super flat .

At what tide are the depths you quoted above?

Fence jumping is going to have the fun police on site instantly - this is the port. By boat on a rising tide so the boat doesn't get stuck high'n'dry would be the go.

i checked out these very spots with a mate of mine back in 2007/8 with an eye to ride it when butter flat. We thought better of it after finding some obscure law in the Brisbane Airport Corporation regulations pertaining to flying unregistered objects within a certain distance from the airport....... It's a risk to the safety of commercial flights......this has become policed more with the drone explosion in recent years. My mate and I both work at the airport so didn't want to put our careers at risk. Do some extra research is all I'm trying to say I guess. Cheers.

guys you do not want to be copping a federal offence if its within the airports cylinder you will get completely reemed and not like a traffic infringement in the mail reemed but theyll meet you at the beach reemed, i would heed riddims warning.

only place ive ever seen this law not be enforced is when VERY VERY large trees are in the way to point the aircraft would have to fly into the trees to get to the kite. this made the site rather unkiteable anyways and it took years to open that site
