its at the old jetty, about 1 or 2 kays from the boggy lake spot to the north i think. theres a sand spit which seems to flaten the water out on anything from SW to SE. it was above 20 knots alot of the time with gusts over 30. sweet spot, might see us there again.!

Great pics jimmy, next time Ill bring my camera and take some of you hey. This spot at boggy has a wicked sand spit that extends for around 300metres or so and the water is reasonably deep which provides flat water, wind from nw to east will work at this spot but for the speed strip the wind will have to be sw. Cant wait to put down some speeds.

It's about 4 or 5 klms from the old Boggy Lake gate towards Wellington. Turn right at a road called ' Lake Reserve Rd', and your there

PS. There is a google earth shot of it on 'speed spots' thread.

Why does chopping a big chunck out of the board make it go faster? I gather that part of the board isn't in the water anyway?

Is it to scare little kiteboards into being good? Otherwise the bad man with the HACKSAW WILL GET YOU?

Looks funky? Patent it Quick! Next thing you know the manufacturers will have them as standard.

chops, check out the speed kiting posts on this forum, the boards more stable at high speeds and has less drag without the toe side edges. Cheers.

Its one thing to take a board to a jigsaw but wouldnt the rocker line and rail shap and flex pattern make more of a difference. Cutting down the outline will just allow you to hold the board into more wind although, I can see it giving you more stability at higher speeds.

That was way too geeky for this time of the morning!!!

There is a surfboard maker on Oaklands rd somerton park who I reckon could nock one up. He does great work with balsa and foam.

Or try tony at the fiberglass factory lonsdale. He has the skills may not have the time until winter.

I don't know of anyone that can build a board for you but I did read a lot of info on this forum a short while ago regarding speed board construction...D.I.Y. I guess

boardbuilding@yahoogroups.com

Maybe a "Barossa blitzer" special construct speed board is in the wind....so to speak
