Hi,

It looks like tomorrow is going to be windy but westerly. Are there any spots safe enough for a beginner around? I want to go to Parham on Saturday, but for Thursday it would be handy a bit closer to home, I live in the hills.

Thanks for any help. Have been trawling the forum for info but didnt come across any!

Hey mate,
Most of the metro spots are onshore during a westerly but outer harbour (The wall)
is cross on but Depending on your skill level may not be suitable.
You might want to reconsider parham on saturday as the tide is way to low and would only be ok from around 5pm which is ok if your after a late session.

I don't know what part of the hills you are in, but the area just south of the Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club has a area, inside a low tide rock groyne, that is ideal, as there are not too many waves, and the water is only waist deep at low tide. Boggy lake down south is another area to consider. Picture shows the Seacliff area.

thanks for the replies! I had considered the wall. I can go upwind but still getting the hang of turning without getting wet!

Might go to the Wall and see what I think. I am a pretty conservative kiter so im more likely to give it a miss if I am nervouse about getting smashed up onto the beach.
